His father Howard Metsker precedes him in death. Steven served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a self-employed mortgage broker affiliated with Rising Financial Services. He loved to play golf, fish, and cook. Arrangements are being handles by Indiana Funeral Care.
